But since this in my opinion is underrated and many of the negative reviews will scare viewers I felt I needed to say something.

I don't want to write reviews for good movies because I think a good movie should be seen without any previous knowledge. Bird Box is post-apocalyptic horror, with moments of intense violence and elements reminiscent of movies like Night of the Living Dead, A Quiet Place, and Children of Men. This movie is probably best viewed on a big screen with a good sound.
One thought though is that perhaps some bad reviews comes from people watching this on a small screen. My curiosity was still on the highest level throughout. Perhaps predictable as well but for this movie I didn't mind that.
The decisions she took, the dedication she showed throughout was based on the love and protection for her child and loved ones. We were being pelted with dried lumps of cow dung, rotten tomatoes, reeking little. So I could relate to Sandra Bullocks character throughout. The troop of children increased children jumped out of every house. Why? Probably because I am a father to a two year old son that I love more than anything. But I decided to still watch it and that was great. Before watching it I read several reviews and some of them critized it for being pointless and also for being a waste of two hours. Unprotected and on the run, Quinn faces the wrath of narcissistic crime.

Yes, everyone is trying not to die to monsters and evil cultists, but there’s an undercurrent of how we deal with grief and loss that is pretty nuanced and emotional. There are also compelling themes throughout the story. I’ve heard some complaints that we never get to “see” the monsters, but there are actually some in-depth explanations for how the monsters operate, which makes a lot of sense (at least sci-fi sense) in a way I found satisfying enough without needing to see some giant CGI-thing on screen.
